Why a Roll-Top Design?
Share
In May 2021, during a bear hunt in Alaska, Isaiah recognized the need for a better way to hang game bags, without the hassle of ropes and knots that often prove impossible to untie. The idea of a "roll top" design for game bags struck him, yet it remained just an idea for several months. It wasn't until early November 2021, while preparing for a Blacktail hunt on Kodiak Island, that he decided to put his idea to the test. He ordered various fabrics and buckles, and with the help of his wife, they crafted rough prototypes for the trip. The successful outcome of this trial encouraged him to further develop the concept.
Over the following year, Isaiah improved on the design with more fabric and better buckles, refining it with each iteration. Recognizing the need for critical feedback, he partnered with Forest Pike at the beginning of 2023 to officially pursue the idea. Together, they worked with manufacturers to produce their initial order of meat bags, making necessary adjustments where they saw a need. Their goal was to ensure that when they launched their roll top meat bags onto the market, they would meet the expectations of themselves and their customers.
Throughout the 2023 season, the design proved itself as a substantial improvement over existing reusable meat bags. They meticulously considered every aspect, from the bag's durable breathable nylon material and roll top closure to features like high-visibility orange coloring, reflective tabs, double-stitched seams, and a rounded bottom that matches the contours of game quarters. The inclusion of removable, durable buckles also ensures ease of use, while the bags' machine washable and reusable nature adds to their practicality.
Moving forward, Isaiah and Forest are committed to continuously improving their roll top meat bags based on user feedback, ensuring they remain a top choice for hunters seeking reliable, efficient gear.
